Background:
|
At its January 2020 meeting, the Board referred Communication 1920C-004 from Art Action Milwaukee regarding a proposed art education policy to the Administration for follow up.
Similar to the process utilized in the development of the MPS music policy, a committee was formed to discuss and explore the proposed art education policy. Membership of the committee included MPS art educators, MTEA, Board members, and the Offices of Academics, Accountability and Efficiency, Board Governance, Finance and School Administration. This allowed for a collaborative approach that included fiscal review and feedback from the Office of the City Attorney. |

Fiscal Impact Statement:

This item does not authorize expenditures. The total projected cost over a four year implementation, starting in the 2020–21 budget year, is $5,259,748 for an additional 50.20 teacher positions and supply costs. |
