Background:
The MPS Department of Black and Latino Male Achievement (BLMA) was established in 2017. The department works to analyze data and adopt local and national best practices that result in improved academic and life outcomes for students.

A comprehensive presentation on the department's work as aligned to the Five Priorities for Success is attached. The presentation focuses on the following:

• BLMA Mission and Vision
• Manhood Development Academies
• BLMA Mentoring
• Recruitment/Retention of Black & Latino Male Teachers
• BLMA Partnerships & Collaborations
• Positive Narrative Change Campaign

The presentation at the November Parent and Community Engagement (PACE) Committee will highlight the Positive Narrative Change Campaign.
