Background:
|
At its December 2019 meeting, the Board took action to direct the Administration to establish a special task force to develop specific strategies and guidelines to develop capacity in attracting, retaining, and developing bilingual teachers and support staff. Since the December Board cycle, the Administration has taken steps to form the task force. This has included identifying participants as detailed through the Board's action, and developing a fair and equitable manner in which to identify parents and students to serve on the task force. The first meeting will take place in January 2020. Once participants have been confirmed, a monthly meeting schedule will be set and meetings will be noticed on the MPS website to promote further community engagement. Agenda items for the monthly meetings will be consistent with the Board's action.
