Background:
|
The administration and the Milwaukee Teachers' Education Association (MTEA), through the meet and confer process, agreed to the attached salary step schedules for building service, children's health aids, school nurse associates, educational assistants - paraprofessionals, educational assistants - safety assistants, bookkeepers, and food service for implementation effective July 1, 2019. This is phase one of the development of salary step schedules. The administration developed a salary step schedule for clerical staff for implementation effective July 1, 2019.

Fiscal Impact Statement:
|
At the May 30, 2019 board meeting, the administration set aside five million dollars in the FY20 budget to be used to implement phase one salary step schedules.

Implementation and Assessment Plan
:
|
Upon approval by the board, the administration will implement the attached salary step schedules effective July 1, 2019.
|
Recommendation:
|
The administration recommends that the Board approve the attached salary step schedules for implementation effective July 1, 2019.
